Yin Yoga is a way of practicing asana in a slow, methodical and physically-focused manner.  Yin poses target specific body areas, and poses are held for minutes at a time with relaxed muscles.  It is complementary and supplemental to rapid and repetitive forms of movement, including vinyasa practice .  Poses are simultaneously restful and very intense.  The long holds and reduced movements open the door to a mindful practice.  Yin is great for athletes looking to bring balance to their workouts, and yogis looking to experience asana in a new way.

Restorative Yoga refreshes and revitalizes the body by using the body’s own relationship with gravity to gently sooth and calm body, mind, and emotions.  Restorative yoga features the use of props and supports to let muscles gently soften and relax.  Attention is give to “active relaxation” and breathing exercises.  Restorative yoga is the spa treatment you give yourself.
